Amon Tobin do tańca

WOWANDFLUTTER
January 31-February 10, 2008
Calgary : The GRAND

Set to the intense, compelling, polyrhythmic music of Ninja Tune beatsmith Amon Tobin, with dreamy visuals by critically acclaimed installation artist David Hoffos, Kimberley Cooper is creating a ground breaking new performance experience that takes the audience on an epic ride of whimsy, humour, intensity, strangeness, video games, sci-fi and fish tanks. wowandflutter promises audiences a beautiful soup of otherworldly wonder.

Here is what Kim says about the upcoming show:
At long last I get to make this show that I feel has been brewing inside of me since the first time I heard Amon Tobin s music in 1998! Amon is a brilliant and internationally renowned musician and he has created a truly magical score for me to choreograph to. Not only that, I get to work with Natalie Purschwitz who made glorious costumes in Velvet, iBULLA!, Pivoting Echoes, 20th Anniversary Jam and in Charcoal & Crimson. PLUS there is a whole other new element to this show as Sobey Art Award winner, visual artist David Hoffos will be creating video elements to be projected into the show. AND the creative team will also be joined by Kevin Lamotte on lights. This will be Kevin‚s first show with DJD, and it s about time. A well-known lighting designer, he has worked for theatre across the country. I am always blessed to be surrounded by brilliantly talented artists at DJD, and not only is this team no exception, I can feel them pushing me as an artist.
